Meet the UK Team
Nick Martin
Nick joined Acker in March 2021 to set up and run the UK office. His many years of experience in the fine wine trade comes from having started his career at Berry Brothers & Rudd before spending almost a decade at Farr Vintners. He believes that the most enjoyable part of building a wine collection is the discovery of awe-inspiring wines. For him these centre around, but are not limited to, the great names in Bordeaux and Burgundy. Nick holds a WSET Diploma and takes great pleasure in helping collectors fill their cellars with mind-blowing wines from around the world.
Kate Janecek
Kate was born in Toronto, Canada and developed her love of wine early on while perusing her uncle's cellar - and unceremoniously dropping a bottle of Chateau Pétrus. She moved to Europe in 2007 and landed a job at Berry Bros and Rudd before joining Justerini and Brooks a few years later, moving from private client sales to buying. Kate has joined Acker with an enthusiasm to build the UK business by sourcing the most exclusive and exciting parcels of wine from Europe. With strong links to the world’s greatest winegrowing regions, she continues to diversify and expand the remarkable portfolio Acker has built internationally from our London base.
