Reviews & Scores
Reticent but very pure aromas of crushed rock and white flowers; more classic than the Perrières. Taut and powerfully structured today, showing almost painful cut to the stony, floral middle palate. Really reverberates on the very long finish. Colin-Morey described this wine as more open on the nose than the Perrières but I like its firm-edged aftertaste. - VM

Discreet if not invisible wood highlights a cool but ripe white flower and green fruit-suffused nose that is nuanced by spice and wet stone hints. The intensely soil-driven and appealingly rich medium-bodied flavors brim with both salinity and minerality on the explosively long, palate staining and moderately austere finish. This is most impressive as it's at once powerful but refined. In short, this is textbook. - BH

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Caillerets has a slight reduction on the nose, although there seems to be plenty of fruit and mineralité underneath. The palate is well balanced with sour lemon, orange rind and white peach, the acidity noticeable and lending the finish and certain steeliness at the moment. This has good length in the mouth and should turn out to be a sterling Chassagne.

Fine and tense. Low-key nose but excellent tension and angularity on the palate. Lip smacking. Very fine. Very hidden and glorious. Needs time though. Pretty rich with grapefruit notes. - JR
